• Freeform thought. Freeform writing is a technique used by many authors and aspiring authors to jumpstart creativity. Memory release journaling is exactly what it sounds like: you merely write down your memories of trauma and any feelings associated with them, and then release those negative feelings. Imagine that they are now on paper, and therefore no longer in your heart or mind. What the word does is give you space to detach and reconnect with your higher self, your divine self. If you are afraid, that blocks you from connecting from your divine self. You can’t do it if you are trapped in the fear. If you say “WOW!” you can detach from the feelings of fear and find a solution, or at least detach from the fear long enough to get grounded.

Motherwort tincture is my favorite calmative. It is not sleep inducing nor mind numbing. "Like sitting in my mother's lap," one satisfied user commented. Motherwort tea tastes terrible and is not very effective; likewise the capsules are not useful. Herbal tranquilizers are safer than prescription tranquilizers, but are best reserved for occasional use. Valerian is the best known. When you successfully meditate, you let go of these thoughts because you are fully focused on something else. Any thought of the job that comes to your mind is quickly released. You consciously come back to the original focus of your meditation.
Meditation also teaches you to identify signs of stress. It can be considered a preventative measure to stress and its harmful effects. But if stress is already consuming your life, meditation helps you identify how to respond healthier to complications created by stress.

It grasps tightly to any issues that are currently creating stress in your life. Worry some thoughts about the future and/or past bombard your mind when you’re anxious.

In a period of 15 minutes, I untethered from that old belief,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], captured my lessons, and experienced a sense of self-forgiveness that is still incredibly humbling. I felt lighter, at peace,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and knew immediately I wanted to offer this gift to others. More important,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I want to release all the other beliefs that weren't serving me. With each belief I released, I was invited to show up differently in the world.
I was at the top of the Space Needle with seventy-five leaders who share my passion for innovation. The ideas and business cards were moving so quickly around the high-top cocktail tables we could have been at a speed dating event. Early in the evening I found myself in an engaging conversation with a consultant about his work. By the time the topic of my vocation surfaced, there was already a lovely rapport established. But when I shared what I do for a living, you would have thought I grew a third eye in those brief moments.
I have to admit I was a reluctant advocate myself until a few years ago. At the time, I was acutely aware of my own themes in life. I had already come to terms with my lifetime of quick, ungraceful exits. I knew every job I left in the past was an attempt to avoid some inevitable disappointment that was outside my conscious awareness. I understood that abandoning my children was an inexcusable attempt to save them from myself. I had come to grips with the cruelness of leaving great loves while the houselights were down during intermission. But the awareness wasn't enough to change the feeling I still held in my body that I didn't deserve happiness.
We want fast food, speedy customer service, instant messaging and expedited payments. And yet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there is something about the familiar that wants us to stay connected to Freud’s old paradigm that healing, forgiveness, and letting go of old beliefs is an arduous task that will take years. So, when I declare I offer a new type of coaching that allows people to achieve more of what they want...faster...some folks get skeptical. And, that is exactly what happened at the TEDx event last night.
And yet, I know it can be easy to scoff at the notion that we can resolve negative emotions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], release old beliefs, and take a quick ride to instant healing if you haven't experienced it first-hand. But I have my own experiences that allow me to be unapologetic for not conforming to the framework of the larger healing community. For every person who does not believe or understand what I do, there are others who are deeply curious and courageously ready. The traditional therapeutic community doesn't believe in the notion of instant healing and making change easier. The field of psychology is slow to adopt the notion that we can heal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], grow, and evolve more quickly with new therapies. Again, it’s interesting to me, because we love the whole premise of FAST in our culture. I wonder why it doesn't apply to the healing community. I'm here to tell you that self-awareness is the invitation to show up differently, but it's not always enough to create sustainable change.
I can still remember when I released undeserving from my body. I wish I could declare it unfolded in the solitude of an Ashram,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but the recollection of the hotel carpet with its grotesquely over-sized flowers of fuchsia, yellow and orange still reminds me otherwise. I was in a crowded hotel conference room attending a training session for one of the healing modalities I use today in my practice. I know - lacking cinematic quality,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], huh? But alas,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the irony of the location confirms you don't have to be in India to change the course of your life.
After some silence he said, “I believe in what you do”,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but his dodging eyes and tapping hand told me something entirely different. He eventually shared he was a trained counselor by trade, which explained a lot.

We as a society discourage cocaine and heroin, and yet I have walked out of a doctors office in LA with someone I love who is a drug addict, who given another seven scripts for various pills to treat the “pain”. I have never felt so angry as I did at that point, it was no better than visiting a dealer on the street, infact perhaps that would have felt more appropriate as at least they would not be playing a role of sorts pretending they are interested in healing.
I would really love to lend my support to help raise awareness on this issue, not just in America but around the world.
So many doctors would offer “help”, house calls,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], follow ups but I never once felt like there wasn’t some sense of desperation to be around the money and influence of a great artist.
I sat at my desk with tears overflowing this morning,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], trying to understand what the depth of this sadness that I have never felt before all meant. I think we as a society can do more to influence change in this area,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as hopefully we all come to understand the level of investment the biggest corporations in the world have in the pharmaceutical industry, so it doesn’t serve in their interests to try and wage awareness about the need for greater care or alternative options in relation to the distribution of medication. It needs to be influenced by the people.
I know there is truth in the fact that both someone like Michael, and the person I was with chose that existence, they chose to take that path in life, but I cant help but feel on so many other levels there has to be a greater voice to be heard to shift this enormous trend we have to medicate people. I have been fortunate to work with many artists over the years, and perhaps their greatest gift to the world is their innocence to come from the heart,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], within this space there is a vulnerability to them which is so often exploited by those pretending to care.
I had to leave the person I loved,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], after so many failed attempts to assist with helping him see another way- I realised that I was not only having to show the way to the addict, but I was in constant conflict against the entourage of those who were so intent on keeping him operating as an addict. I think about him still everyday, I miss his light, and his music (the drugs also have a way of taking away the ability to create brilliance again),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and maybe these recent events has shown me I can still offer help to others to raise the awareness against this entangled pharmaceutical phenomenon.

Serena tried SO hard to be positive for her other children. She tried to put up a good front with us too which only added to her burden. 5. CULTIVATING HOPE
Try this activity to create more hope in your life. Find some quiet time alone. With pen and paper and a willingness to step fully into “hope” begin writing. Allow your writing to fully explore the answer to the following sentence starter. I have hope in _______________. Write nonstop for 15 minutes without lifting the pen from the paper and do not cross out, change or judge anything you write. Write down everything that comes to mind with no censoring. As you complete this activity notice how you feel while you allow your hopefuless to grow and grow.
When we cultivate hope we heal faster and live longer and happier lives. Where in your life can you cultivate more hope?
Today, five years later, Serena has an inner strength and wisdom that was not there before. She is cancer free and enjoys a loving relationship with her healthy 5 year old daughter Samantha
Their faith in God was strong, yet the odds of survival were stacked against them. Nevertheless, their decision was clear. They would keep the baby,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and proceed with the mastectomy.
As you can imagine, this news completely devastated Serena and her family. They had to make several heart wrenching decisions quickly with little time to process the news.
This was the darkest time in their lives,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Gone was the normal daily routine in their busy family life. This was not something they could afford to delay like the paying of a bill. This crisis demanded their full attention and immediate action.
The holidays can be a joyous time filled with love, joy and peace, a time of festivities and fun with family and friends. However it can also be a difficult time for many. Limited financial resources, current crises, recalled losses and past disappointments can make us very sad. Even though having hope may be the last thing on our minds, it is the one thing that will change our outlook in an instant. Here’s a story about my dear friend Serena and how cultivating hope got her through a very difficult life threatening time.
4. BENEFITS OF HOPE
Cultivating hope reminds us that things can and will get better. When we are hopeful,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we take a detour from fear, frustration and uncertainty. Having hope gives us something to look forward to,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and that feels good. Feeling good partners with positive thinking and before you know it we are living better, making better choices and taking better care of ourselves. Where do WE find hope when we are afraid, depressed or feeling lost? Many people find hope in religion, faith or belief in a greater power. Some people find hope in positive thinking, meditation and prayer. Others find hope through friends, family, professionals, or through helping others. No matter where you find it, hope will make you feel better during difficult times.
Throughout her pregnancy and well afterward,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Serena received weekly chemotherapy drugs, which made her very ill. I watched my friend loose her hair and her hope in the future. In its place were fear,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], depression and anger. She was angry at God for allowing this to happen, yet she secretly blamed herself for causing the cancer. She felt so guilty for putting her family through this nightmare.
2,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. STORY OF HOPE
A few years ago my friend Serena was diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer. Several days after the diagnosis she learned that she was pregnant too. Then, not only did the doctors tell her she had to have a mastectomy; they advised her to abort her unborn baby as well.
Imagine suddenly hearing that you might die soon… and then having to go through a traumatic mutilating surgery. Then imagine that in order to save your life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you had to take drugs that could kill your unborn baby. Add that to the mood changes that come with pregnancy, trying to control your fear and anger and having to carry on as a full time wife and mom.
When we have hope we believe that a better result or positive outcome is possible, even when there is evidence to the contrary. We hope for things like overcoming our problems,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], finding the ideal partner, landing the perfect job, winning the lottery, or a miraculous healing...
1. WHAT IS HOPE?
When do we learn the most about who we are at our core? For many of us it is when we are in the midst of a crisis, isn’t it. During these difficult times we learn what it is like to fall down, and to feel the agony in being down. We also learn how to pick ourselves up and restore our hope.
Then, one day I noticed a change in Serena. Her demeanor was different. I sensed a peace and a hopefulness that I had not seen before. The many gestures of prayer and support from friends and family had found a nesting place deep in her soul and she felt strengthened, comforted and encouraged. In her prayers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Serena received a vision and a message that God would pull her through this crisis - her hope and faith was restored.
